Dinner

To sign dinner, make the sign for evening by having your dominant hand travel with fingers together and palm down on top of your non-dominant hand, then complete the compound sign with the sign for eat, which is done by placing your dominant hand in front of your mouth with all fingers together.

An alternative ASL sign for dinner is to simply switch the order for signing eat and night or evening.

SIGN USAGE

This is a sign for daily use. We do it prior to dinner or when telling our baby that dinner is about to be ready.

Flash Card

We can teach dinner by singing a dinner song before the meal, or by signing before asking our baby to join us at the table.

Thanks so much for this! I have a hard-of-hearing mother, and I’m trying to learn for her and my father-in-law, who is also deaf.

      Hello,

Thanks for your request. Unfortunately, we haven’t developed sign pages dedicated to emojis. You may find this external link useful though, at least as a springboard: https://youtu.be/sdzrQlu8PzA.
