Family
Family is signed by first making the ASL sign for 'F' with both hands, then forming a circle with both hands horizontally, starting near your torso and ending away from your body. Start with the two 'F' hands touching at the index fingers and thumbs, then circle the two hands around horizontally, ending with the pinkie fingers touching, as if you were encircling a group of people in front of you.
SIGN USAGE
Teach your baby the sign for family whenever you have family gatherings, whether it's just your nuclear family (you and your spouse and kids) or your extended family (including grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts). It's especially great to reinforce the joy of family gatherings, so use the sign often with your baby, especially when you have family reunions during the holidays or at birthday parties.

Would love to see some more diversity represented in the flashcards, particularly the family words!
Appreciate your comment, Jamie. Since we’ve beefed up and refreshed our Dictionary in recent months, we’ve definitely reflected more diversity in our flash card images across the board. 🙂
