Toy
To sign toy, form both hands into fists and tuck your thumbs up between your index and middle fingers. Pivot both hands back and forth to make the sign.
The same sign is also used for game, miniature, and model.
SIGN USAGE
Teach the toy sign as you give your baby a toy. Teaching this sign is a great way for your baby to tell you when they want to play with one of their toys and is a great alternative to fussing.

Flash Card
We prefer to introduce and teach the sign using an actual toy instead of a flash card. But once your baby has learned the sign with some actual toys, the flash card can be a fun way to help them reinforce the sign once learned and to start to generalize the sign.

Thanks, these videos and the written directions are great!
I’m trying to think of ‘toy’ like a toy drum, to help me differentiate it from ‘potty/toilet’.
We are glad our BSL pages are helpful, Jessica! Thanks for stopping by! Also, ‘toy’ is more of a two-hands, wrist-twisting motion, while ‘toilet’ is more of a single-hand, sideways motion. Cheers!
This has been an interesting experience trying to learn one sign per week to use for my deaf dog!
