Volleyball
Volleyball is an iconic sign: with palms wide open and held above your head, imagine you are holding a volleyball. Then pivot both hands back and forth simultaneously, while keeping them above your head.
This sign should not be mistaken for basketball, where both open 'claw' hands are pivoted at stomach or chest level. Since the volleyball is mostly flying above the heads of the team members, this sign should be held high above the head.
SIGN USAGE
Teach your toddler the volleyball sign when a family member is part of the school or community's volleyball team, or when you see a match on TV or in your little one's story book or cartoon.
