Waitress

To sign waitress, make the sign for serve by holding both flat, open hands in the air, tilted at an upper angle and slightly to one side in front of you, and alternately moving back and forth. Then finish this off with the sign for a person or agent marker, pulling down both flat hands in front of you, with palms parallel and facing each other.

SIGN USAGE

Teach your toddler the waitress sign when you are taking your little one out to a restaurant for the first couple of times. Then explain to them that the job of a waiter is important to help diners have a pleasant experience. If the waitress gives your toddler a few crayons and some coloring book pages to pass the time while waiting for their order, teach your toddler to say (or sign) 'Thank you' to the nice lady, too.
