Brown
To sign brown, you make the ASL sign for 'B' (extend your fingers, and tuck your thumb under) and run your index finger down the side of your face.
The sign is a little like you are smearing brown war paint on your face.
SIGN USAGE
The brown sign can be taught along with the other color signs using the color flash cards.

Flash Card
Teach your baby the brown sign as a secondary color after she has grasped the primary colors as well as black and white. Otherwise, if you go too fast, it can be hard for your baby to learn to distinguish colors that are too simple. Black, for example, is similar to brown – so you don’t want to teach them at the same time.

I ordered your dictionary. When I got to the signs “brother” and then “brown”, they showed the same sign??? Looked up both on this site and saw “brown” was printed wrong in the book I got.
Hi, Andrea. Thanks for picking up on that error! Rest assured that the succeeding reprints are being updated.
Could you please add a sign for ginger bread man? THANK YOU!!
ADMIN – Hi Sophie,
Finger-spell “ginger”, then use the sign for “bread” and the sign for “man”.
