Discover is signed exactly like find: use your dominant hand, and with palm facing down, pinch your thumb and index finger together. Do a grasping motion while moving your letter F hand up, as if discovering or finding a small object.
We mainly use discover when we our toddlers have discovered a physical object they were looking for (like pretty stones or shells on the beach), or when they discover new information in their story book or on TV.
This is a useful flash card taught best in conjunction with tactile games, like building blocks wherein your toddler or baby can 'discover' new tower designs, or when you are on the beach or in your garden, and your child finds an interesting item (a plant, flower, or twig) that they had never encountered before.
