Floor is signed by taking both hands flat with palms facing the ground and thumbs touching, then moving the hands apart. The sign looks like you are miming an imaginary floor.
Floor is a sign best left to older children. Because the floor is ubiquitous, babies often have trouble grasping the concept. When you do introduce the sign, you can teach it by contrasting the floor to the walls and ceiling.
We mainly use floor in association with activities that take place on the floor. "Let’s play on the floor?" "Would you like to help clean the floor?"
