To sign gum, form a bent letter V sign with your dominant hand, then touch your index and middle fingertips to your jaw, bending them up and down. It is as if you are massaging the gum on that side of your face.
Teach your toddler the gum sign when they are ready to learn all the signs pertaining to dental health, or in preparation for their first visit to the dentist's. Hopefully, you won't have to teach the sign because your toddler is experiencing any gum pains.
This is a useful flash card taught best in conjunction with the flash cards related to brushing one's teeth and keeping a healthy diet (which means avoiding too much candy or sweets, and opting for more natural sugar sources like fruits instead).
