Hit (a Person)
We usually teach our baby the sign hit in the larger context of Don't hit a person, like a playmate or family member. To sign Don’t hit , you will punch your index finger of the non-dominant hand with your dominant fist while moving your head from side to side, communicating a negation.
SIGN USAGE
We also remember to make a sad, stern, or disappointed face when we teach the sign, to show our baby our displeasure with the act.
