The hug sign is made by making each hand into a fist and crossing your arms over one another on top of your chest. This sign looks like you are giving yourself a big hug.
Being able to get a hug whenever they need one is very comforting to your baby. Make the hug sign before you give your baby a hug, and reward them with a hug any time they make the sign. This will quickly become a favorite sign for babies and parents alike.
Use the hug sign to teach little ones to express, solicit, and give affection to others. Consider teaching the sign along with signs that identify other persons in their surroundings, such as mommy and daddy.
