Infant

Infant is signed exactly like baby: cross your arms with hands facing up, one arm resting on the other while touching one elbow with the fingers from the opposite hand, as if you are cradling an infant in your arms. Then gently move your hands from side to side, as if rocking the infant to sleep.

SIGN USAGE

You can use the sign for infant whenever you meet another baby on the street or are on an outing. Babies seem to be fascinated with other babies. When they start looking at the other infant, point and say, “There is a cute infant,“ while doing the sign.

Flash Card

Use the infant flash card along with the mommy and daddy flash cards. The objective is for your baby to develop self-awareness and understand familial connections. As your child gains further understanding of their surroundings, you can introduce signs for other members of their society, such as teachers and nannies.
