To sign paper, lay out your non-dominant hand, palm facing up, to act as the base or main book. Then take your flat, dominant hand and mimic pressing some paper by pushing it sideways and in the opposite direction against the 'book'.
Teach your toddler the paper sign when showing them a note pad, story book, magazine, or coloring book. Teach this as well when comparing a paper bag to a plastic bag.
This is a useful flash card taught best in conjunction with your toddler's other learning and arts and crafts materials.
