People is signed a lot like visit, but instead of using 'V' hands, you use 'P' hands. First, form both hands into the ASL letter P sign. Then move the hands in alternate circles: up, forward, down, and back. When the right hand is forward, the left hand is back. When the right hand is up, the left hand is down.
Teach your toddler the people sign when you see a lot of people flocking to a particular area: a concert, a fair, the beach, or a party your family is attending. When your toddler is advanced enough, you can interchange people with humans so that your child realizes you are referring to one and the same thing.
