Ring

Ring is signed naturally, as if you are sliding a ring on your left ring finger. Take your dominant hand in the form of the ASL letter 'F', then imagine you are holding a ring with your pointer finger and thumb. Slide that invisible ring onto the ring finger of your opposite hand.

SIGN USAGE

The ring sign is nice to teach your baby as soon as you notice she has developed an interest in your jewelry. If your baby or toddler notices that you and your spouse are wearing matching rings, you can use that as an opportunity to also teach the sign for love. Even if that is an abstract concept, your child will remember - and understand - it as they grow older.

What would the sign be for ring like the shape be?

    ADMIN – Hi Haleigh,

I just use the sign for circle.

What about a ring which is not to be put on a finger, like toy rings to put on a stack or gymnastics rings?

    ADMIN – Hi Adrej,

While this is finger-spelled I used to do a circle in the air with dominant index followed by the sign for key.
