Sauce is signed exactly like gravy: form the ASL letter Y sign with your dominant hand, then tip it on the thumb side to mimic a sauce boat pouring onto a main course or salad. With your 'sauce boat' tipped on the spout side, form a circle laterally, as if you are spreading the sauce evenly around the dish as you pour.
Teach your toddler the sauce sign when you they start showing curiosity over your meal preparations and the condiments you use for meals.
Teach your toddler this sign in conjunction with the usual meals served with sauce at home or in a restaurant.
