School is signed by clapping your flat, open hands together, with the top hand's fingers perpendicularly angled to the bottom's. Lay your non-dominant hand open, palm facing up, then bring down your dominant hand to clap the two together. It is as if you are the teacher, clapping your hands to get your students' attention.
Teach your toddler the school sign as you get them ready to attend day care or preschool. Make sure to also look happy or excited for them, so that they can learn to associate positive emotions with their first school experiences.
Use the school flash card and sign when your baby is ready to start attending Montessori or daycare. You can also use it if siblings attend school.
