Turkey
Turkey looks like outlining the wattles on a turkey. Taking your dominant hand to the bottom of your chin, wiggle the index finger and thumb pointing down.
An alternative sign for turkey is to simply move your "wattle" hand from your chin down to your chest.
SIGN USAGE
Turkey is a great sign to teach your infant in the weeks leading up to the holiday season. That way, she can use the sign at the family meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The same sign is used for both the live bird and the food. But, we would use the sign for just one of those uses, as it is confusing to a young child to use the same word for both. They do not yet make the connection between the bird and the food.

We can use the sign for turkey during visits to the farm or for Thanksgiving. If you live in a more urban area, consider using storybooks to introduce your baby to this bird.
