Water

To sign water, take your dominant hand and extend and separate the three middle fingers while holding the thumb and pinkie finger together. Then tap your index finger on your chin a couple of times.

To remember the sign, it is simply the ASL sign for 'W', going near your mouth.

SIGN USAGE

Once your baby is drinking fluids other than milk, start to teach signs associated with different liquids, so that she can indicate preferences when she is feeling fussy.

This site is amazing. It helped me with my picky three-year-old, who wants to fill up on juice and milk instead of just eating food. It gets frustrating sometimes but they had some helpful hints. Thanks.

I love this site. It is so informative and easy to use.
I have known how to sign for several years, but I take care of a 3 yr old and a 15 month old. The3 yr old likes to watch the videos and look at the pictures and has learned several signs. The 15 month old is nonverbal. I have been teaching her signs to help with her communication skills. She has learned to sign eat, drink, milk, please with just a few times of showing her and has started to make some sounds like mmm

We purchased the deluxe kit a week ago and are very excited to receive it. My wife and I have been practicing the basics through the site for a few days and cannot wait to start working with our six month old son who is moderate to severe HOH and is using hearing aids now. Thanks so much!

I really like this site. We found out we have to learn sign-language for our great-granddaughter. I’m just sorry we can’t afford the kit right now. Your site is very informative and we have learned quite a bit from it. Thank you!
