Thick cardstock makes me feel like these will be with us for a while.

This set lacks basic non-noun concepts that are fundamental to a toddler’s development. If all I wanted my daughter to know was the name of every animal then this set is fine. However if I want her to be able to communicate that she is hungry or tired or thirsty or needs to go to the bathroom then I would need to supplement the cards with online resources. We have done so, but for the price of the flash cards I’d hoped that there had been some research and thought into “which” words to include in the set.

Hello, Thank you for your comments. Our products are a constant work in progress as we aim to deliver the best products to help parents, teachers, and babies bridge the early communication gap. I’m afraid you may have only accessed the older iteration of our flash cards at this point. Have you already seen our new Dictionary pages? Our new and improved Dictionary includes many of the basic verbs and adjectives you had mentioned: hungry, thirsty, tired, go, bathroom, and a lot more. Please feel free to access said words and download the respective flash cards. Please use the Search function as well, for other basic terms that may not have been included in our older Flash Cards version. Thank you!

I loved these flash cards! I was surprised when they arrived and were a great sturdy cardboard material-perfect for my young deaf ed students who ADORED learning new signs with these cards. I also really appreciated that the picture on the opposite side of the card was a real-life photograph.
Raquel –
We love our flashcards. We have been using them for a year and my daughter knows and uses all the signs. The dictionary and guide are great too, but I wish there were more cards!

My daughter began learning to sign since she was 3 months old. With the help of these flash cards, she learnt half or more than half of the cards by the time that she was 8 months old. She is currently 20 months old as of June 2020 and still learning – she just finally got the hang of “bread”! In the beginning, I didn’t think it was that practical but it definitely helps us so much in understanding her. She’s also speaking well (mama, papa, eat, drink, moon, light, are some of the words she says), so in case you feel skeptical or hesitant to purchase because you’re worried that your baby may not learn to speak, don’t be. Try it out for yourself before making conclusions 🙂 oh, the sign “potty” helps a LOT with potty training – less stress of making them “tell” you when they want to do their business 😉

great quality product, doesnt break easily. Images are super clear and beautiful.
Only thing is I’d like to see more Verbs and (instead of so many Nouns)

I loved using the baby sign flash cards. I started using the cards with my twins at 9 months. I know their advanced vocabulary today is due to them learning to sign early on.
At first I felt silly going over flash cards with a baby. But I knew they were engaged and having fun. If I was showing the card to one twin, the other one would lean over to see the card. I ended up sitting them together and going over the cards at the same time. The drawing on the back of the card for the adult was great in the beginning.
I have so many stories about how great baby sing language is. My favorite is: After only a few months, we were out side walking when both of them started clapping and doing the “fish” sign. Fish! Fish! Fish! I thought they were confused but I repeated the word they were singing to me and started looking around. Of course, you know there was a fish but the crazy thing was that the fish abstract neon sign. I was flabbergasted that they could recognized something so far away and communicate it to me.

My daughter loves her flashcards. I wish we could purchase additional sets to complete all the words provided online.
ADMIN – Hi Kristin,
Thank you for your kind feedback
Carrie Eckenrode –
Hi my name is Carrie, I work in a child care center and would love to have your flash cards.
Julie –
The cards are great and very durable. Good variety of objects to start. I only wish it had included colors.
Jamie –
This poster is fantastic. We hung it up in the nursery and used it from day 1. It was very helpful when the baby learned some new signs at school but we didn’t remember what they were. It is nice a thick and survived two moves and is still going strong. Very easy to understand and a valuable resource for anyone wanting to incorporate sign language into daily life with baby.
Ivonne –
I have really enjoyed our products. They’re easy to use, of good quality and more importantly my son likes them.
julie –
Love the product. My 18 month old loves them and knows all of them except a few of the animals. I just wish it included colors and I wish there wer additional flash cards available for purchase. There should be a volume II including colors, more fruits and maybe some more toys.
Amy –
I highly recommend the wall chart with basic sign language for infants and toddlers. The signs are clear and colorful. We hung it in my son’s play area when he was six months old, and over time he learned all the signs. At 20 months, he is able to communicate effectively with signs and sounds, even though his verbal skills are not fully developed. This reduces frustrations for all of us!
Aurelia Sanders –
My daughter and I just love these flash cards. I searched high and low to find sign language flash cards with real photos of the objects instead of cartoon drawings. They are very heavy duty and a perfect size. They were shipped to us quickly and in excellent shape. I highly recommend these sign language flash cards!
Sasha –
I was a bit skeptical of the chart at first but consistency pays off! The animations are easy to follow and my baby loves to look at them. At 10 months she was able to sign dog, all done, and more. I can’t wait for her to learn more!
Elaine Harris –
Love the size of this poster it’s clear and very colorful and a great addition to our curriculum in our infant room.
Patty –
I love these sign language cards. As soon as we started teaching our baby signs she started saying some words. Something clicked and she just got it! Now our baby is 19 months old and is signing and saying words to communicate. I love it when she see things out in the world that are represented by the cards; I can see she makes the connection when she smiles or makes the sign!
Paul –
These cards are great quality and easy to learn. Our baby loves playing with the and learned a few signs. My only wish would be that there was a little more variety in the signs. There are a lot of nouns like fruits and animals. I think there should be more stuff like emotions, requests, and actions.
Kyle –
We used the chart for our two young boys, and it has worked wonderfully! It has allowed us to communicate with them more efficiently!
Suzanne Sukalski –
I got a wall chart for my niece to learn Sign Language.

Hi! We bought the flash cards pack, and we love them! Thank you! I see that on the website you have many more flash cards and I was wondering whether it is possible to purchase them in a similar format to the pack we already have. Thanks! Hi Inbal, We currently only print the 52 card deck. Thank you for the great suggestion. We will keep you updated if we decide to sell other sets. In the interim we encourage you to enjoy all the free baby sign language resources available in digital version
Susie Mander –
It is wonderful that these are available to download and print for free (though it might be easier just to buy the pack!) I can’t wait to try them out with baby number one. Thanks
Jessica –
Can you add the alphabet and numbers 1-10?

My husband is able to check out the My Signing Time dvds from the school library and I started them with my son last week. I absolutely love them!! I wanted to get flashcards to help supplement the movies and I stumbled upon this website. Thank you so much for providing these downloads free of charge. I looked up flashcards on amazon but could not find beginner cards that were affordable. I like that I can look up the words we have gone over in the movies. However, not all of the words we have learned are on your site. I left a comment on another page asking about the words in black. Can we also request other words? Today we went over family, feelings and fun. I know how to sign daughter and son but a visual would still be nice. Home, silly, scared, gloves, feelings, and wind were in today’s group. I am sure this is asking too much but I figured it does not hurt to ask. I have other words that you do not have as well but do not have the list on hand. Again, thank you for this opportunity!!

My son just turned 13 months… and we can communicate! Its awesome! He completely understands that when my hands move, I’m speaking, and he works hard to mimic the movements. He tells me he wants to go outside, eat a tomato, airplane, and ready for bed. I believe it took so long because I didn’t realize he was signing. But once I caught on, we really took off. Thank you for this site.
Breanne Brown –
Love these flash cards! They are durable, easy to understand and I love the fact that they are real pictures of the objects. I’m ready for another set since we mastered these in no time!!
Amber –
I would love to download all of the pdfs. Is there any way to do this without clicking on each one?
Jean –
I really loved the flash card. I was able to use them to get my baby to sign all the words I the cards set. I was amazed at how quickly she learned. I only wish there had been more sets! After we learned the first hundred words, we would have loved a second set with one hundred more words.
sheree –
I love the simplicity of the pictures you use of babies doing the signs!!! Super cute! Sheree – author of ‘The Pigs Got Out’ – read a story with sign language!
Brittany Greek –
Having just found out that my 2 year old son lost his hearing due to a vaccine reaction, This is a great way to start teaching him how to communicate. I would like to thank you for providing the free printable downloads for those who cannot afford the extra expense of purchasing the set! You’re Awesome!

hey my niece is is 4 years old and can not talk with using these cards helped my niece and i understand each other thank you
Diana Claude –
I purchased the flash cards for my granddaughter. She is a year old and has been signing for several months. The cards are durable and the pictures are great!!! When I visit, she brings me the cards so she can show me which ones she knows….which are almost all of them. If I pause for any reason, she quickly says,” Mo Mo Mo” (more) so she can continue signing. This was a great purchase and they still look brand new.
Val –
I found my way here from your class action rebates website, and I’m really excited! My baby just turned one and I think he’s itching to communicate with us. Thanks for two helpful websites!

DORA MEZA –
I’m a kindergarten teacher. I have one firl student that can’t talk or hear, and I just visited her therapist and saw how they review flash cards of numbers. I just ordered two kits. One to donate to them, and one for use in my school.
alexis –
SO GLAD I FOUND THESE, my almost 2 year old is non-verbal and i have decided to teach him to sign, while trying to get him to speak. Thanks 🙂

The baby sign language wall chart has been great. I work in an infant classroom at a preschool and we have it hanging up in the room. We point at the picture with the children, but also show the parents and other adults that come in the classroom. This is a fantastic product!

I’m a homestay mother and my little boy is two-and-a-half and does not speak. I use sign language with him because his Therapist uses sign language and this is really helpful. Now I can understand and communicate with my son, and it is helping his talking. It is a big relief .. thanks.
Carmen –
I received my order quickly. The extra durable cards came in their own box. The pictures and signs are very clear. The signs that I didn’t get are on the web site. I taught sign language to 1 year olds when I worked at a daycare. I can’t wait to use them when my grand daughter arrives. Thank you so much for offering them. I will recommend them to all.
Vanessa –
This is such a great source!… I have been trying to get different words in sign for my daughter who has Cerebral Palsy.. I get so many mixed messages and different websites that require you buy a package of learning material that maybe we wont need in about a year once we have learned what we need to learn. I can now finally teach my daughter how to use the potty!
G.B. –
Better than any toy! My two-year-old can’t put these down! Although we bought these to teach our 6 month old baby, they are now our 2-year-old’s favorite game. She quickly learned all the signs and loves to show off her skills. Our baby is now learning with these now so we may need another set!
Sarah Chin –
The flash cards are much higher quality than another set I have. My son can hold them without crushing them, and they wipe off when he has a spill. The pictures are clear. Thanks!
Chelsea –
This is such a great resource! I have been looking for something like this for a long time, and just stumbled upon it today! Thank you for providing this 🙂

Dear Baby Sign Language, I wanted to thank you for the flash card free download. I am a single mom and every little bit helps. Normally cards like this are priced $10 or $20. Your free baby sign language cards have been very useful as I bond with my baby girl. Thank you!
Spencer –
We love your site! We can’t wait to start signing with our baby. I would love to have all the flash cards, and would love to have a way to get them all without downloading them individually. THANKS!
agnes –
Great cards!

These are great. I love the great pictures. I printed these out and have them up in the nursery.
