Begin
Begin is signed like start. Open your non-dominant hand with fingers widespread and insert your dominant index between the index and middle fingers of your other hand, turning it back and forth, mimicking the movement of a key starting the ignition of a car.
SIGN USAGE
Teach your child the begin sign during games, meals, or when starting a car. Since this is part of a contrasting sign pair, be sure to teach your toddler how to sign finish and stop as well. Making a game of it with various activities can be fun.
