To sign race, form both hands into the ASL letter A sign. Then push and pull them back and forth in front of you in an alternating fashion.
This mimics how people or animals that are racing can sometimes be ahead and at other times fall behind while still in a race.
Teach your toddler the race sign when you are watching a race live or on screen, or when a race is being described in their story book.
This is a useful flash card taught best in conjunction with flash cards signifying the actual persons, vehicles, or animals involved in the race.
