To sign ghost or spirit, form both hands into the ASL letter F, with the non-dominant palm facing up and the dominant palm facing down. Then starting with both 'F' hands touching at the index fingers and thumbs, shimmy the dominant 'F' hand upward, as if a genie was coming out of a bottle. Your non-dominant hand remains still.
Teach your toddler the ghost sign when it is time to introduce them to the usual Halloween characters and symbols.
Use the ghost sign when you are introducing your baby to ghost stories or Halloween. You can introduce this sign along with the most popular children's character, Casper, the Friendly Ghost.
