North
To sign north, form the ASL letter N sign with your dominant hand by the side of your body, then raise it to your head level. This indicates the north direction on a compass or map.
SIGN USAGE
Teach your toddler the north sign in the context of learning directions on a map, globe, or compass, when you are traveling on the road and headed to a distant location or another state, or when you are traveling by plane and headed northward for a holiday.
