Waist
To sign waist, form both hands into the inverted ASL letter L sign, and starting from the center of your waist, pull both inverted 'L' hands apart as each one outlines half of your front waistline.
SIGN USAGE
Teach your child the waist sign when they begin to show curiosity about what their body parts are called. When they start tagging along with you to go shopping for clothes, you can also teach this sign when measuring the waistline is needed to get the right size of trousers, shorts, or dress that is fitted at the waist.
