To sign Xerox, hold your non-dominant forearm horizontally in front of your body, your hand flat and facing down. Then form your dominant hand into the ASL letter X sign, palm side facing down, and starting from underneath your non-dominant forearm, slide your 'X' hand back and forth.
Your 'X' hand is mimicking the scanning function of your photocopier.
Teach your toddler the Xerox sign when operating your photocopier in your home office.
Teach your toddler this sign in conjunction with other tools, supplies, and devices that are or will be useful to them as they begin going to preschool or elementary school.
