The yes sign looks a head nodding yes. You take your hand and make it into a fist, holding it at about shoulder height, then make your fist bob back and forth.
Once your baby starts to understand your words, teach yes as a way for them to signal acquiescence. Ask your baby is they want something, and instead of having them grab at it, gradually teach them to sign yes.
We use yes to communicate approval. Teach the sign by offering your baby choices of objects or foods, like asking your baby if he or she wants more apple or more cake.
